Serving Out Of Love offers a deeply moving window into the harsh realities of homelessness in Los Angeles—and the unshakable hope that can rise in the face of it. Founded by Joyce Haywood, this ministry is one of New Visions Christian Fellowship’s most active expressions of love in action.

Every week, Joyce and a committed team of volunteers head into Skid Row—not just with meals and supplies, but with hearts ready to listen, pray, and stand alongside those society often overlooks. What they offer is more than a meal—it’s relationship. It’s community. It’s hope.

The situation is urgent and heartbreaking. More families, women, and children are showing up on the streets. Mental illness is growing. The need can feel endless. But in the middle of it all, this ministry is proof that consistent, Spirit-led love changes lives.

Joyce’s journey hasn’t been easy. She’s faced burnout, fear, and moments of wondering if it’s making a difference. But again and again, God reminds her: "If you can help just one, it's worth it." And she has helped many—like the young man who came back to say, “I got housing,” or the child who now calls her “Mom.” These are the moments that keep the fire of love burning.

This work takes faith. It takes courage. It takes people willing to give, go, and believe that love can truly conquer even the most broken places.
